The Fetal Position

The day started off so well, then I decided to go see the Pulitzer Prize winning photographs at the Colorado History museum. Now I am incredibly depressed.
They made me cry.
I cried in the exhibit. I cried as I left it. I cried as I walked the 3 blocks to the bus stop, and I cried the better part of the way home on the bus. And most of the tears were because of one photo. One photo and the bastard who took it.
So if you don't mind, I am going to go curl up in a little ball and watch Amelie. I need to go reconfirm my faith in humanity.

Yeah Ive seen the pics..they are really sad..I dont know which one made you so upset ( as any one of them could have!) but I was quite upset at the pic in Kosovo with the parents passing the child over the fence..I think its sort of interesting to think back on your life as a kid when you never raelly thought anything was wrong..never questioning reality?...Corny but When Harry met Sally usually reaffirms my faith..something about Meg ryan and billy crystal..hmm

Hmm yeah know what you mean about paying loads of money for university..I got me self a big student loan when i get out there in the real world!!
With regard to Scientology and intellectual currency, these days knowledge is only seen as being functional, as a means to an end.. an end which in the old days they reffered to as 'enlightenment' and now we refer to as cars, money, a house etc. Of course, in time we too, will once again see and recognize this need for enlightenment, free of anything materialistc. Whats probably interesting is that although mankind has moved through this progression of thought many times in the past, there doesnt seem to be a clear answer to how this can be acheived and what it all means...or was there?..and if there isnt does it mean that everything is random , having no meaning but its just the human condition to see these patterns in things??...and finally even if there is no meaning to life and everything , how can we accomodate that into our psyche? how can be resolved to live a completely random and meaningless life and still be happy and contented?..What does it take to see life as a process and not a means to an end?
ok i will stop here..lol..thanks for the comments
cheers,
